PLEASE COME!
Hi all,
I have recently read a book about Medjugorje ("My Heart Will Triumph") that has inspired me to try to bring messages of grace to others. The book is an autobiographical account of one of the 6 children claiming to be visionaries beginning in the 1980's, when their small village (in Bosnia-Herzegovina) was under Communist control. These children and their families suffered major persecution for even believing in God, let alone, Jesus and Mary. Throughout the many wars and conflicts in the region, this village has been protected and is visited by millions from around the world, purporting to feel God's presence there to this day. The visionaries still live there and still get messages to this day. Many have been healed physically and spiritually. And although it is still in the process of being officially "approved" by the Church, they have encouraged pilgrimages to the village and the church there has installed 25 priests to offer confessions at all times. Pope Saint John Paul II called it the "Spiritual Heart of the World"--and he himself bravely battled against Communist forces trying to silence him up until and during his papacy. Reading some of the messages myself, I feel admonished for being judgmental at times, as I am warned that with that state of mind, my prayers will be "ineffective and even hypocritical". I believe in today's times we really need to start basing our decisions and actions on love for our brothers and sisters in Christ, and teaching our children the same.
That said, I recently saw a trailer on Youtube for a documentary on Medjugorje, and how the filmmakers chose 7 people of varied backgrounds and beliefs to go on a pilgrimage together and document what they felt in Medjugorje. What a coincidence that I read this book about an event over 30 yrs ago, which has changed my heart, and now see that this movie is being screened. I have not seen the film but have read many rave reviews (the L.A. Times even reviewed it, which is rare for a faith-based film. It wasn't the best review, but...it's the L.A. Times haha) and have spoken to the film company (Little Flower Strategies). Since the film was only playing in a few select cities around the country, I decided to bring it to Denton for a one-night screening, which will be at:
GOLDEN TRIANGLE MALL- DENTON
2201 S Interstate 35E Denton, TX 76205
at the Silver Cinemas inside the mall.
ON: THURSDAY DECEMBER 1ST, 2016
THE FILM BEGINS AT 7P AND IS ABOUT 2 HOURS.
TICKETS ARE $10 EACH.
I have only reserved a 2 hr block so we will need to start the movie at 7pm sharp--I recommend getting there by 6:45pm. I am selling the tickets ONLINE and in person, so please feel free to contact me or click the link here: . The film is PG13.
The theater seats 240 so I have many tickets to sell, without a social media account...SOOOO..those that do, please promote this screening and post this link to purchase tickets:

If you would like to read more about the film, go here: http://apparitionhill. org/
For a really touching account of a miraculous healing, view this video.
This is a video of who they selected to go on the trip (out of 160 submissions).
After the cost of the theater/licensing is covered, the rest of the proceeds will go to the Loreto House in Denton, which is a non-profit center that helps men and women with unplanned pregnancies, get care, support, and items they may need during and after pregnancy.
Please help me spread the word and join me in watching the film!
Thanks and God bless,
Samantha Hodge

Gospel of Life w/ TNT!
Went to mass this AM at Teresa and Tim's church and did a balloon rosary prayer for the unborn. It was a hectic morning for us but we are glad we went and the kids all liked seeing the balloons float away :) Here are some pictures Teresa took--look at that amazing sunrise:

Feels like the first time
Had my first gig in 3 yrs tonight. I was so nervous and I still can't get my setup to where I can turn up the volume where I want it for a large room, without feedback when I use my harmonizer...but I know I use it too much anyway, so I'll have to work on some songs that I feel can hold their weight without harmonies.
It was packed for the first half, and died down toward the end. I actually expected fewer people because it's a tuesday night of back to school week lol. I was happy to see my catholic homeschool group mom's from Frisco there :) I made some funnies and did a "shout out" to them...yeah, TRL style.
I played most of the 3 hr set straight lol. My voice is almost gone. But it was great fun and I earned some $ toward the cabin. I hope it leads to more jobs...despite how nerve-wracked I get the week prior :)
Thank you to the friends that came out--you lifted my spirits! And thanks for the pictures Amanda :)

Happy Birthday to Me
Normily stayed an extra day, despite the fact that Emily starts a new job at a hospital this week, and Norman is starting another semester next week--it was a last minute trip, and we made the most of it! We had in & out burger, went to mass, then Emily (nanny) came over to babysit while we went to Top Golf for my birthday :)
I was terrible at it, but it was fun and the food was good when it finally came. We had good talks, discussed faith, children & marriage, had laughs and retold inside story jokes. I'm sad they had to pack up and leave tonight, and John had to go to bed since he works tomorrow. But we still got a Catan game in--which Emily won :)
Hope to see them soon--probably Thanksgiving.

Can't wait til Norman gets his process tech degree next yr and gets a job up here--game nights every weekend!

Playing Music
I am getting back into playing live music to help save up for the cabin :) I just found this link and it got me nervous/excited. I have been practicing some new Mashups lately. I hope to be asked back.

SD trip
I have over 400 photos to share but I'm waiting to convert my old hi8 tape to digital so I can put it all together.. I may put photos up separately if it's going to take too long.
Contrary to what a few people said before we went, there is WAY too much to see and do in the Black Hills of SD. It was surreal and beautiful. I kinda like that it's a sorta hidden gem. We are already looking into buying a half acre lot to build a vacation cabin on. I highly recommend SD for your next vacation!

SD vacation over :(
This is the cabin we rented....so sad it had to end. Week went by too fast. We really love South Dakota and can't wait to return and build our own cabin. A new family trip tradition :) We are on our way home, about 3 hrs away. Will post video and photos of all the fun soon!

The Bus
We got our bus today and began our trip to the Black Hills! It was spacious, but we really did pack the whole house into it. We met up with Susan and David in Concordia KS, at a Mexican restaurant that had good reviews...but people in Kansas probably haven't had true Mexican food.
We drove a few more hours to Lexington NE and we are staying the night before finishing our trek to SD after mass tomorrow.

These photos aren't great but I will upload my real camera photos when we are home :) I also got my old camcorder out--one I bought over 12 yrs ago...so the cassettes are obsolete now. :(
